Fairy Camp LA

A blog for Fairy Camp LA, focusing on crafts, music, dancing, nature, fairies, trolls, magic, and other enchanting activities for children.

Still blown away that these kids only met yesterday! They are such a Fairy Family!

The kids were so excited to get their notes from Dossledorf – especially our three friends who just found out who their fairies are! Yahoo!

After songs, dancing, fun, more fun and a lot of laughing, the kids found the following note:

Dear Campers,
We all loved your thankful tree so much! We had high hopes that when we arrived in the mushroom ring this morning that Grandpa Gretten would be happy and full of smiles. But no. He said he didn’t sleep a wink and that although your thankful words were nice, he just felt like being grumpy instead.
We got the elders back together to think (also: Pip is really hanging around. I wish he wasn’t so concerned with this grumpy old troll). We decided that the true meaning of love and kindness comes from doing great things FOR other people! That’s why we are going to try and get Grandpa Gretten to make OTHER people happy. There is an old Fairy Saying that goes “magic is found in a circle” (loose translation). That simply means that if you bring magic you will end up receiving magic. Same thing goes for feeling grateful. If you are grateful and kind, that will make your heart feel full.
We think that THIS might do the trick!
Crossing our fingers,
Dossledorf

We talked a lot about how when you put good in the world, it also can make you feel really good. I told them about my work at the Good Shepherd’s Woman and Children’s shelter, and we decided to make a garland for their Thankful Dinner. The kids worked really hard, and the result was beautiful! We had enough leftover that we were able to do a small garland for our homes too!

As if this day couldn’t get better, we were invited to swim in Rex and Daphne’s amazing pool. It was a ton of fun!

We can’t wait for tomorrow!
