Fairy Camp LA

A blog for Fairy Camp LA, focusing on crafts, music, dancing, nature, fairies, trolls, magic, and other enchanting activities for children.

Hello friends!  We had so much fun with flowers today – the kids were all smiles (and so were we!!).

We had such a good time singing and dancing in the park today – it is so wonderful to see new friendships blossoming!

We found this note from Dossledorf in one of the nearby trees:

Dear Campers,

Ohmygoodness! I am so glad to see you have come back!  I so enjoyed reading your questions last night and you will find my answers back at deRooville this morning.

The first day of Florafest was a great success!  I can’t wait for you to see what we’ve done.

The fairies were chatting with the flowers last night and our friend Petal Roseheart (a beautiful red flower) said she would like to leave you an offering.

Please go to deRooville to see what she has left!

Love Dossledorf

We were excited to hear Dossledorf’s answers that Taylor and Matt read, and we were even more excited to find this other note from the Princess!

Dear Friends,

What a busy day here in deRooville! Last night we had a coloring party.  We mixed up some color magic and gave an extra coat to our flower friends.  For them, it is like giving them a glorious rainbow bath. We left some of the potion for you, if you’d like to try it out!  It is similar to a science experiment – so make sure you play with a curious heart!

With love,

Princess Thesablee

We found some beautiful bouquets of flowers, voiced our observations about them, and realized that they needed a bit of a rainbow bath too!  We did an experiment where we placed them in colored dyes.  We made hypothesized what we think might happen, and are so excited to see what tomorrow will bring for our colored flowers!

We then thought of a super fun idea: let’s paint the remaining flowers like the fairies painted theirs last night!  It was beautiful to see what they created!

Of course they also wanted to use the flowers as paintbrushes too – so we got out some paper and set to work.  What fun it was to explore all these different ways to use flowers!

After lunch, one of our counselors busted into the room with pure excitement!  He found a basket full of beautiful dried flowers and this note from a real live flower:

Hello human friends,

My name is Petal Roseheart.  I am one of the spokesflowers for the flower of this village.

We have left you some of our dried flowers for you to create a beautiful array of scents.  You may take them home and put them under your pillows to dream of the magic of the flowers!  Sweet Dreams!

Love, Petal

We made our own “Dream Pillows” and loved smelling all the different kinds of flowers.  I can’t wait to hear the dreams they had!
