Wow. That was THE best week! We have never tried to tackle the mysteries of Fairy Science before at Melissa and Sue camp, and boy oh boy – did we have fun. Mainly because this group of campers have been so curious, excited and magical!!!!
Today’s note from Dossledorf was short and sweet:
Dear Campers,
Tonight is the big competition! We are all so thankful that you have joined us this week to work out the little kinks and kooks in our experiments. We have had so so so much fun with you – THANK YOU!
Head back to DeRooville to check out our last fluffy experiments!
Love, D
Fluffy? Were we going to do experiments on poodles? pillows? No! CLOUDS!! check out Princess Thesablee’s note:
Dear Friends,
What a joy it has been to have you in our village. You have been curious and excited, kind and patient. Thank you.
Our last experiments are under the category of “Head in the clouds”. We think you are really going to love it.
The first one if from the leader of Wondershire, Poppylop! He is going to try make a new substance called Loppop that he thinks will work like a cloud. The second experiment is by Trimika and Skooter – they are going to try to make a storm in a glass. We shall see!
Stay Curious and ask many questions, dear human friends.
We love you,
Princess Thesablee
The storm cloud experiment was crazy. First, we made it rain in the classroom (well, we made it SOUND like rain), then we made it storm in a glass. The shaving cream acted like a cloud, and when the rain made it too heavy, it started fall into the water below. It made the coolest patterns! It was fun to try different colors and different amounts of “clouds”.
Of course the colorful clouds looked so beautiful that we just HAD to paint with the fluffy mess. It was fun to watch the kids try new ways of using the color and clouds on paper. The campers were giggling the whole time.
We also did an experiment that used ivory soap. We heated the soap up in the microwave for 45 seconds and POOF! It turned into a cloud! Try at home! It is SOSOSOSOSOOOO neat.
Our last order of business was to check on the crystals we made on Wednesday. They were BEAUTIFUL – especially when we shone a light through them!! The kids were super impressed with their scientific work.
And we were super impressed with all the love, friendship and magic they brought with them this week. Thank you for joining us!!
