Fairy Camp LA

A blog for Fairy Camp LA, focusing on crafts, music, dancing, nature, fairies, trolls, magic, and other enchanting activities for children.

Wow.  I’m not even sure I will be able to explain this super exciting, amazing, miraculous day!! But, I will try…

At the park today (after all the silliness),

we found this long, slightly suspenseful note:

Dear Campers,

Holy Crackerfeet.

I can’t believe it.  I really, really, really can’t believe it.  We have spent all night awake debating whether or not we should trust this “spencer the dragon” character.  On one hand, he seems pretty genuine… but on the other we are worried. We don’t want to fall for any sneaky dragon tricks!

Why would this dragon want to be at our village?  Why is he bothering with little tiny fairies? What should we do?

The fairies and I FINALLY decided that we should in fact help this dragon out.  It wouldn’t be very fairy of us if we didn’t – would it?

We left him a note last night telling him he was safe with us and we left him a bowl of sugary donuts (a dragon’s favorite) as a token of our peace.

I hope we won’t regret this decision!

Love, D

We didn’t know what to expect when we returned to deRooville… but I have to say finding a DRAGON egg was at the bottom of the list!  Check out Spencer’s note:

Dear Fairies and Humans,

Thank you for the donuts.  They were really good. I love donuts.

I am a kind dragon in need of help.

My baby egg is almost ready to hatch and I need a safe place to keep her tonight because I need to fly to Strikester and wake my slumbering wife – she has been hibernating and it is my job to take care of our egg. I think the journey to Strikester will be too rigorous for my egg… and so i ask you –  Will you help and make it a comfy nest?

I will come by tonight to pick her up.

Thank you, kind friends,

I am so excited to be a daddy dragon.

Spencer

And would you even believe that as I was reading the note – the egg started to crack!  It did!  Some of us were excited, and some were nervous (ME!!) and so i suggested we could use an ancient Dragon Potion to make the egg disappear and have the baby dragon stay safe in slumber until her parents’ love came to wake her up!

The potion was so cool – it fizzled and sparked and slowly, the egg dissolved around the little baby dragon.

We wrote the dragon a letter to tell him what happened…

and then… we tried to make these magical dragon eggs ourselves!  Of course OUR dragons are just toys – but we can’t wait for them to dry and see if the potion works on them tomorrow!  So fun!
