A blog for Fairy Camp LA, focusing on crafts, music, dancing, nature, fairies, trolls, magic, and other enchanting activities for children.

HOLY DOODLE, as grandma bell would say…. Holy Doodle.

You guys!  You won’t believe what we found out today.  I will let Dossledorf explain it all:

Oh no.  OOOOOOHHHH NNNNOOOOOO!  You guys! We have big news – BIG news.  I am so nervous to tell you this, but something has happened last night.

Let me tell you this – at some point around midnight ALL of the fairies of deRooville heard a very loud BANG!  We went outside and it smelled of burnt marshmallows… and there is only one thing (besides burnt marshmallows) that smells like burnt marshmallows – DRAGONS!  Oh gosh. The village went crazy – fairies were flying around everywhere!

Princess Thesablee came out and had to settle everyone down.  She told them that the Human Children Believers were coming tomorrow and that you would help.  Would you? Could you? We are all very afraid of dragons and need to make sure this one won’t come back again!

If you can help, Princess Thesablee has left you a note back at DeRooville.

Thank you!

Love, Dossledorf

PS – I did have time to write back to your questions before all the chaos started.  You will find my answers in your boxes!

Although we were very excited to get Dossledorf’s answers (so many people found out who their fairies were!),

we were also very serious about helping out the fairies.  Thankfully, we got a few tips from the Princess:

Dear Friends,

I am writing this to you by the flicker of candlelight.  I do not want any of the fairies to know how nervous I am about this dragon!  I am still a young leader and I want to keep my village as safe as possible – but I will need your help.

I know two sure fire ways of repelling dragons –

  1. Dragon Mist – Dragons tend to HATE the smell of anything pretty – so please make a mist repellent and spray it around our village to ensure that they don’t come around anymore.
  2. Dragon Chimes – Typically, Dragons do not like the sound of cheerful music.  Please make a Dragon Repellent Chime and make sure you shake them throughout the village so that the dragon will NOT come back.

I would be forever grateful if you could PLEASE help us out!  Thank you!

All my love,

Princess Thesablee

We started off with the Dragon Repellent Mist – we used rose blossoms, and essential oils to spray all over the yard in hopes that it would smell too pretty for the dragon to want to be here.

Then, we worked hard on our dragon chimes.  These kids are really focused on their crafts.  We are very impressed!  We rung the chimes around the yard and hope it works!  Abra Cadabra, Sticks and Stones, Dragon oh Dragon, leave us alone!

Despite the severity of the situation, we still had loads of time for songs, play and silliness!

Let’s cross our fingers that the dragon doesn’t return and our repellents worked!!
