Fairy Camp LA

A blog for Fairy Camp LA, focusing on crafts, music, dancing, nature, fairies, trolls, magic, and other enchanting activities for children.

Hello and Welcome!

We had such fun today at our first day of fairy camp!  Alumni Campers loved teaching new campers about the magic of the fairies, and we had a great time singing, dancing and introducing ourselves!

In the big old tree at the park we found this note from our friend, Dossledorf:

Dear Campers –
Hooray! I am so excited to see all of you! The Fairies and I have been getting ready for a week full of magic, fun and art, art, art!!! The fairies are so excited you are here and have been asking ALL YEAR when you will be coming so that they can spend time with you.
WE ARE GOING TO BE HAVE SO SO SO MUCH FUN!!!
For those of you who don’t know, my name is Dossledorf and I am the lead communications fairy of Hannalonkawich and I am very pleased to meet you.
The fairies have left you a surprise back at deRooville. They are very excited to show you a new artistic technique.

See you there!
Love,
Dossledorf

When we returned to camp we found a basket full of bags, jewels and flowers AND this note from Princess Thesablee:

Dear Campers,
Oh me oh my.  It is such a great honor to be writing you right now.  My name is Princess Thesablee and I have been granted leadership of the village of deRooville.  We are so excited to have you here in DeRooville!! And we are doubly excited to have you join in what we call “Fairy Art In Recent Years Appreciation (FAIRY) Week.”
In DeRooville, we think it is VERY important to honor artists, especially young artists, so that they know how important their skills are and how much beauty they bring to our village.
Speaking of skills, our fairy friend, Thomas Beary, taught us this REALLY cool way to Tie Dye!
We are leaving you these bags to tie dye – and encourage you to use them as Communifairilees.
As many of you know, these Communifairilees act as mailboxes from human believers to the fairies.  Feel free to ask us ANYTHING you want and we will try our best to be honest and true.
Your answers will be in your boxes by morning!
With love,
Princess Thesablee

The kids really concentrated on making their Communifairilees shine with magic – and the tie dye effect looks really rad!  We asked our first questions to Dossledorf and we really hope he writes back tonight!

We loved making new friends today and exploring our new village – some of the kids even designed a fairy wedding during their free time!  Wowza!

At the end of the day we made fairy magic by mixing colors together to see what color potions we could create.  So cool!

We can’t wait for the magic tomorrow!
