Fairy Camp LA

I LOVED TODAY!!!  We had science explosions, mind explosions and heart explosion!  These kids rock.

We talked this morning with the campers about what makes us awesome – we loved to hear what they are talented at and what they love to do. Such an awesome group of kids!

The kids found a note at the park that read,

Dear Campers,
KABLAM!  We the fairies LOVE to mix and create and ask questions and discover and that is ALL about science!
We can’t wait for you to see what we have in store for you today at fairy school!

We raced back to deRooville so we could hear Dossledorf’s answers to our questions, and then after snack found this note:

Dear Campers

We have such fun planned for you today.  Think exploding rainbows and minds!
Please find a spot where you will find no danger and follow the instructions below to see exploding rainbows!!  Then be sure to try it yourselves!

Pour magic liquid over one spoonful of magic powder + color.
Change amounts, change colors, be curious!  Have fun!

Holy doodle did we have fun!  We liked guessing (hypothesizing!) what an exploding rainbow was – and then LOVED seeing the magic happen!  We broke up into groups and the kids got a chance to experiment too – they used different colors, tried different ratios of magical substances, even tried to do patterns and use sand!  It was so fun!  My face hurts from smiling.

At the end of the day, we had fun coloring pictures of our rainbow explosion findings.
