Helloooooooo!!!

Thank you so much for joining the fun today and thank you SO much to Madeleine’s family for inviting the magic into their backyard!

What a big, awesome group of campers we have!  We had a blast exploring, adventuring and investigating today.

To begin with, the kids found this note in a hole in the big, magical tree in the backyard:

Hello Dear Campers!

We are so excited to be here and VERY thrilled to be at Madeleine’s house!  The fairies and I feel like it is quite enchanted and we just know we are going to have a blast here!  Some fairies have even decided to stay here until friday! Just like a fairy campout! Hooray!

Oh! But before I move ahead, I should introduce myself.  My name is Dossledorf and I am the lead communications fairy for the village of Hannalonkawich and the tribe of Shlittersnese.  We can’t wait to get to know you better!

In an effort to encourage HBF (Human Belief in Fairies), we have left you the gift of knowledge.  Please go on a hunt and find the presents we have left you. Here is a clue of where to look: RAINBOW.

With a little bit of detective work, the kids found a ribbon rainbow in the little alleyway beside the house.  There, they found this note and a bunch of boxes.

Congratulations dear friends!

You have found our present!

I am Queen Leekis, leader of all the fairies of Hannaloinkawich and it is a great honor to meet you.  We love Human believers, and to pay tribute to our new friendship, we have left you these Communifairilees.  Please decorate them with as much magic, color and gusto as possible.

As our JFCs and Counselors will tell you, these boxes will act as a mailbox between you and fairies all week long.

If you ask a question to us tonight, my faithful scribe, Dossledorf will answer you by morning.

We loved decorating the communifairilees with paint, glitter and sequence, and all the kids asked thoughtful and interesting questions.  We sure hope Dossledorf writes us back tonight!

Nearing the end of the day, the kids found yet ANOTHER note.  This time its mood was more somber…

Oh my goodness!   Oh my gosh!

Friends!  So quickly we have just met, but so quickly I need your help!  I am a loose cannon! I have lost my marbles! I am in shambles!

As Queen Leekis and I were laying out your gifts, my magical wand disappeared!  I know I left it right under the tall tree, but me oh my! It isn’t there any longer!  I have looked low and high and high and low to no avail. I am so upset! What kind of fairy doesn’t have a wand?!

My suspicion is that tricky troll Tiki has taken it – but why?  Oh my goodness.

Would you kind campers PLEASE help me find my wand?  PLEASE?

I am leaving you these magical magnifying glasses so that you can decorate them and use them to help you on our journey.

Oh that Troll Tiki!  Even though Trolls are quite sneaky, they are also very silly.  Why on earth did he steal Dossledorf’s wand?  The kids decorated their wands with colorful ribbons, and went on a search in the backyard.  They found many interesting things… but no wand!  We will definitely have to keep searching tomorrow.  We won’t give up until we have helped Dossledorf!!
