Hooray! hooray!
We had another day full of mystery… today after songs and fun (and personalized fairy notes) the kids found a message under a rock that said “Magic Waits for you at the Wishing Well!”
The kids were super excited because they have been dying to get to Griffith Park! The kids were awesome on our hike and they loved seeing the Fairy Village of Hannalonkawich again. As we were making wishes into the Wishing Well, the campers noticed a note within its rocky roof. We were elated because the Night Fairies saw your flames last night from the lanterns and one of them wrote to Dossledorf! Check it out!
Hark! Joy! You won’t believe what has happened! Your lights were so beautiful and so powerful that they have caught the attention of a night fairy! She came to me last night right before bed.
Oh friends, she was so glorious – she was curious to what I was doing, and I softly explained (since you should always whisper to a Night Fairy) that I was writing to my friends at camp.
The night fairy, Lalune, was very intrigued. She asked me to tell her more. I told her all about you, and she was so excited!
She asked if you were talented – I said yes
She asked if you were smart – I said yes
She asked if you could sing – of course I said yes!
She asked if you were magical – and I responded a solemn yes.
She then asked if you could do her a favor. She had hoped that you could please write her a new lullaby. You see, a Black Night Fairy’s job is to sing the creatures of the forest asleep, but she is in need of a new, beautiful, lullaby. Would you be able to help her?
(oh please say yes, I really want her to come back!).
Many thanks, Dossledorf
Thankfully, the kids were totally into writing a song. We discussed lullabies and a few campers sang us songs that their parents sing to them before bed. We all liked the Twinkle Twinkle Little Star Song and so we wrote our own words to the tune. I think the kids did a great job! We hope the Fairies do too!
A Song for the Night Fairy
(To The Tune of Twinkle Twinkle)
Good Night Earth and Good Night Stars
Good Night Family Near and Far
Good Night Moon and Good Night Sun
Good Night World, Good Night Everyone
Good Night Fairies, do not peep.
Sweet Dreams my baby, drift to sleep
See you in the morning!
Later, we bedazzled frames to keep the song in. And of course, ended the day with an epic dance party!!
