Fairy Camp LA

The counselors and I all agree – today was a super fun, magical, awesome day – one of the best!  From the moment the crazy-haired gang arrived, to our put-up circle at the end of the day, we had smiles, smiles, smiles.

The kids arrived with such crazy hair this morning that the trolls were sure not to recognize any of them.  Thanks for playing along, parents (and shout out to ella’s mom who dropped her off with a fabulous head of crazy hair herself!)!

The kids were so jazzed about their new looks that we made up a new hello song where they could introduce their “disguise name”.  We went further into our imaginations to make up names of the planets we were from, and what we liked to do, eat, or what our language sounded like!

The note from Dossledorf today was great!  He suggested we make even bigger disguises to fool the trolls.  It read,

Friends,
You look fabulous! I think your hair disguises may have worked! I think the trolls will leave us alone now. I’m so glad because there is something I need to tell you.
You see, there are more trolls than you may think. There is a fairy rumor that the trolls are able to change themselves into humans… or into anything they choose in order to do proper pranks. The only way you can tell if a human is really a troll is the dots on their forehead from wear their little horns usually are. So stay aware and look with curious eyes!
I say that we continue to mask and disguise ourselves too. Doesn’t that sound like fun?!
I have left you some magnificent masks. Go crazy and decorate them with anything you wish!
When you are finished, please head outside and show your costumes and masks and crazy hair to the world! It is a MASQUERADE PARADE!

We also pulled out the costume trunk and had a ball dressing up…

To top it off, we went on a parade around the neighborhood!  The kids giggled the whole time… and so did the passersby.

PS – We were very puzzled about the comments about  trolls walking amongst us.  Our Counselor Ben does have these odd green dots on his head… FYI, this is still under investigation.
