Fairy Camp LA

A blog for Fairy Camp LA, focusing on crafts, music, dancing, nature, fairies, trolls, magic, and other enchanting activities for children.

What a wonderful first day! Fun, Magic and JOY!

The kids loved the magical backyard and we had fun singing along to Melissa’s guitar and making new friends.

After snack, the kids found this note in the tree:

Dear Friends,
Hello and welcome to the magic of the Oxfordshire! This beautifully enchanted backyard has been sought out by the fairies of Hannalonkawich for all of the wonderful events occurring this summer and we couldn’t be more pleased you are here to join in the fun!

For those of you who do not know me, I am Dossledorf – Lead communications fairy for the tribe of Shlittersnence, Village of Hannalonkawich.

I am here to help sustain HBF (Human Belief in Fairies) by teaching you all about our fairy ways. In fact, the fairies and I would like to invite you to go to Hannalonkawich this morning. Please head to the Gate of Riddles, follow the path past The Bridges of Troll Tiki, The Performance Tunnel, The Tree of Slumber, and The Turtle Pond until you get to the Wishing Well. Make a wish dear friends, and look for a gift from the Fairies!

We love you, sweet children. We will be watching you!

Love, Dossledorf

We were excited to head to Griffith Park and check on Hannalonkawich. We had so much fun! The magic was palpable as we headed through the path.

After we made our wishes, we even found a gift of bags and this note:

Dear Children,
Hello and welcome to the Fairy Wishing Well in Hannalonkawich! Your fairies have been so excited to see you again. They are all watching from the treetops!
Please use these Communifairilees to create a mailbox for you to communicate with the fairies. Bo Violet the JFC will tell you how it works.
Please decorate it so it sparkles and sings!

Dossledorf has told me that you are a very, very special group of campers. That you have great sparkles in your eyes and great love in your heart. He wonders if you are the chosen group to be the first to hear the story of how I, Lila Leekis, came to be the Queen of Hannalonkawich.

There are parts to the story that are  sad and gray, but we promise you that it ends happily. Would you like to hear it? If so, I will ask Sue to start from the beginning.

Love,
Queen Leekis

We cannot believe we are the chosen group!!!! The kids are so happy and so are we! This is a story that has rarely been told – and the kids were at the edge of our seats during the first “chapter” of Leekis’ tale.

We decorated our Communifairiliees and they looked very cool.  Like tie-dye!

We hope Dossledorf writes back to us tonight!
