Hello and welcome to the Performance Festival 2017! We are super stoked to have a group of such talented performers!
After a morning of songs and getting to know you games,
we found this note from our Communications Fairy, Dossledorf:
Dear Friends,
Good morning! Hello! I’m so happy to see you!
My name is Dossledorf and I am the Communications Fairy for the tribe of Shlittersnence in the village of Hannalonkawich.
The fairies and I are so excited you are here! As you may know, this Friday the Performance Festival and Talent Show begins. We were hoping that you would begin the festival by being our closing act.
It really is quite an honor, since usually Beebop does an amazing breakdance that brings down the house. Unfortunately, Beebop has sprained his wrist doing a wacky jump flip, and can no longer be our closer.
Would do us the honors? Oh please oh please?!
To show our appreciation, we have left you a gift down by the old village of Locanville. Some of you know what awaits, but you are in for a big surprise too!
Thank you my little stars!
I will write again tomorrow!
Love, Dossledorf
Little stars is right! We RAN to Locanville where we stopped in our tracks – you wouldn’t believe what we saw! We found STAR mailboxes and this note:
Hear ye, Hear ye!
Friends new and old – we are so excited you have accepted Dossledorf’s invitation to be our opening act for the Performance Festival!
We have grand ideas for you – but before all of that, we wanted to give you a gift of a Communifaralee.
For those of you who don’t know, a Communifairalee is a fancy fairy word for “mailbox”. You may ask us questions each day, and then we will put the answers in this mailbox once the moon is out.
We can’t wait to get to know you better, we do believe we will be great friends!
We have so much more to say and write, but must bid you adieu for right now. We’ve got to go practice our big play for Friday. The title is “The End of Winter’s Wake” it is quite famous here in Hannalonkawich. It was written by our pal Poppylop.
All our love,
The Fairies.
Birdie had a great idea to decorate the boxes to make them look more exciting, so we happily colored and jeweled them up. We hope Dossledorf will write back to our questions tonight!
After lunch we sang a bit more, then called upon the campers to think of an extraordinary talent they may have. Their small performances ranged from magic shows to singing to poetry readings and even the moonwalk! We can’t wait to put these together for you for you to see on Friday! It is going to be epic!
We can’t wait to see what tomorrow will bring!
