Fairy Camp LA

A blog for Fairy Camp LA, focusing on crafts, music, dancing, nature, fairies, trolls, magic, and other enchanting activities for children.

These campers are such leaders!  They floored us today with their attitudes and gusto!

In the morning, we went on a bottle cap search and found so many.  We talked about how it is our responsibility to always put our litter in the trash or reuse it if we can!

Speaking of reusing, Dossledorf wrote us this note:

Dear Children,

Oh what fun it was to watch you make your Fairy Balingtings! For those of you who put them in areas outside or near windows, my friends Rosajay and Delilia came to check them out. They said they looked beautiful under the moonlight!

Today the fairies want to show you some exciting things that you can make without even having to go to the store! We love these Peeka Chimes.   The sound from the chimes in the winds calls to us fairies and lets us know we are entering a “fairy believing zone”.

Have a walk in the jungle to see if you can find one!

With love, Dossledorf

Before we left for the jungle, the JFCs asked if they could again lead the kids in a craft.  They did a great job making flags for the fairies!

Afterward, we headed through the jungle, and stopped along the way to tell silly stories and have little dance parties.  We finally found the Peeka Chimes.  They were beautiful!

We also found this note:

Dear Friends,

These chimes have been used by believing humans and fairies for centuries. As Dossledorf said, we follow the sound of the chimes to know we are in a safe zone for fairies.

In the past, we have used items such as wood, coins, Flickamack, and glass, but more recently, in the age of Ecofairies, we have been using “found objects” to create these Peeca Chimes. Our favorite thing to use is old bottle caps – since this is what is commonly found on the ground of the park.

Remember, sweet friends, please, please, please clean up all your litter wherever you are. The litter left by humans at the park gets into our homes, rivers and dreaming areas.   It is too much for the fairies to try and contain. We need your help!

Ecofairies Unite!

Love, The fairies of Hannalonkawich.

We made our own Peeka Chimes when we got back to base camp and they were fantastic!

We can’t wait to see what tomorrow will bring! I can’t believe it ts the last day of Summer Camp 2016!!
