Fairy Camp LA

A blog for Fairy Camp LA, focusing on crafts, music, dancing, nature, fairies, trolls, magic, and other enchanting activities for children.

Hello and welcome to Achakaibing!

We had a wonderful first day of camp!  We are stoked to have another group of friendly, magical kids.

We started the day with songs, dancing and fun!

After snack the kids found a note from our friend Dossledorf.  It read:

Dear Children,

Oh goodness, oh my gosh… We have been so excited about your arrival.
My fairy friends and I have been counting down the days until we see you again!
But wait… Some of you might be new to Griffith park and all the magic that awaits you here.
And if this is true, how embarrassing!  You don’t even know who I am!  Please forgive me and let me introduce myself.  I am Dossledorf. I live in Griffith park and am a part of the fairy community Hanalonkawich in the tribe of Shlittersnence.
My job is to communicate with the human world. They call me a communications fairy. We all have jobs, and they are all equally important. I love my job because I love teaching people about fairies.

This week, I hope you will explore with me and learn all about the myth of Achakaibing. There has been quite the buzz around the fairy village that the stories we have grown up with about this faraway land could actually be true?! Would you like to learn more about this world? If so, I can send you the story…
But before I do, please head to the underground land of Locanville where a surprise awaits you…
With love, Dossledorf.

We went to the village of Locanville right away and found a beautiful surprise – as well as another note!

Hello and welcome!

We hope you like the gifts we left you! These treasure boxes, or Comunifairalees, help you and your fairy friends communicate.

After every day at camp please feel free to ask any questions you like – in morning, your answer will be put in this communifairalee.

The JFCs will fill you in on the rest.

Please return to base camp and decorate these boxes with your own unique sense of fun, magic and zest.

We already know we are going to be such GREAT friends!

With love,

The Hannalonkawich fairies

We had time to go to the wishing well too and do a spell on our wishes to come true…

The kids did a great job decorating their Communifairalees.  They look super duper magical.  We really hope the fairies answer our questions tonight!

The kids also got to hear ALL about the myth of Achakaibing.  We are very excited because there has been a lot of reports in the fairy news that Achakaibing might actually be REAL – not just the mythical place we learned about at Fairy University.  Tomorrow we might even go check out where the experts think Achakaibing might have been!  So excited!
