Performance Camp – Day 1

Wowzers. How lucky are we?! These campers ROCK!! Big smiles and loads of magic. The counselors are all super stoked on this group of awesome kids!

We had a fun time getting to know each other this morning with songs, games and a bunch of silliness!

But one question kept popping up – when are going to hear from the fairies?? After snack – the kids were SO excited to find this note from our pal, Dossledorf:

Dear Friends,

Oh joy!

Oh love!

Look at these shining faces! The fairies and I have been so excited for your arrival – we have been singing all morning and dancing with glee!

For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Dossledorf. I am what you call a Communications Fairy. I am the liaison between fairies and believing humans. Do you believe in Fairies?

My tribe of fairies lives in a fairy village called Hanalonkawich. The tribe of fairies called Shlitersnence has been working on a surprise for you.

Would you like to go and see?

When we got to Locanville (an ancient underground Fairy Village) we were all so excited to see that these mailboxes were left for us along with a note from the fairies!

Dear Children,

Thank you so much for coming! We truly hope you like the gift we have given you. These are your very own fairy mailboxes called Communifairalees. If you have any questions about fairies, please let us know and we will answer your questions in these boxes. Please be sure you decorate them with your own sense of magic and flair! Afterwards, head to the Fairy Wishing Well to make a wish for the week!

But wait… we the fairies actually have our OWN wish… You see, we have been watching some of you at camp – playing and dancing and singing. We think you are very talented and accomplished singers and dancers . As you may know, this Friday is the beginning of our Fairy Fringe Festival (Triple F) and we were wondering if you would like to be the opening act?

Do you think you could create a musical performance for the fairies for THIS Friday? We would feel so privileged and so excited if you could!

We got into groups and began discussing what kind of performances we like best – Stage? Movies? Musicals? Then each group created an idea that THEY would like to perform. I think the fairies are going to be really stoked. So many ideas were flying around – it was awesome!

Not to mention, we also got to decorate our Communifairalees. The kids did a great job!
