What an amazing, curious, fun, well behaved group of campers!
What a great first day!!
We had fun getting to know these great kids, making new friends, singing songs and having fun.
We were also so happy to find a fairy note from our pal, Dossledorf! Check it out!
Hello sweet children!
My friends and I have been waiting for you and we are so excited for your arrival!
Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Dossledorf and I am honored to be the Communications Officer to the Fairy Village of Hannalonkawich, and the tribe of Schlittersnence.
As you may have heard, this forest is filled to the brim with magic, fairies, and fairy friends. The fairies of Hanalonkawich have known your friends Melissa and Sue for many years and we find it so exciting that every summer we get to meet more and more camper friends.
Speaking of friends, we are prepping for a NEW holiday here at Hannalonkawich – Friendship Day! We are honoring all of our friends here at Griffith Park: The ladybugs, the dragonflies, the spiders ,cockroaches and many more. We were hoping to introduce YOU to a couple of our best pals this week… would that be alright?
I know the fairies are very excited to meet you – and I think they have a question waiting for you at Hannalonkawich. I hope you can make it!
Magic and smiles,
Dossledorf
We hiked to the village,
and we were so excited to find TWO wonderful surprises! An interesting sign and a note.
Luckily the note explained the sign:
Hello and welcome to the village of Hannalonkawich!
We have left you this Welcaloves. Welcaloves are so very important to both fairies and their pals.
When fairies and their friends pass by a home that has a welcalove hanging on a branch in the yard, or near a window they know your home is safe and that they can rest and be taken care of at your home.
Please go back to home base to decorate your own welcaloves. The more colorful, the easier it will be seen from the sky.
Also, when you hang your welcalove, feel free to leave sticks, rocks or other fairy treasures close by so they can build a fairy shelter to rest.
We can’t wait to see them!
Love the fairies of Hannalonkawich.
PS – We welcome any questions you may have about the fairies, or the welcaloves. Sue can put them in her backyard, and Dossledorf will answer them tonight!
We had fun decorating our own welcaloves. We hope the kids put them up in their own yards. Remember – it is best to put it in a place in that moon and the sun can shine on it.
Don’t they look great?
Thanks for a great day, friends! We can’t wait to see what happens tomorrow!
