Wowzers!

This day was filled with all sort of surprises and fun!

The kids were VERY excited that Dossledorf wrote back to their questions – we learned so much from him about the fairies!  What fun it is to have a fairy pen pal… and such a wise one as Dossledorf.

In their treasure boxes, the kids found beautiful silver butterfly wings.  We were shocked, since Melissa and I have never seen such a beautiful gift from the fairies before.

After that, things got pretty awesome – we started seeing butterflies EVERYWHERE.  Then, a  note from Dossledorf appeared.

Hello my sweeties!

I cannot tell you how excited everyone was at Hanalonkawich last night! Your Glapidiouses really made a stir! The fairies are very proud of you and really want to start telling our friends about your gardens. Would that be okay?

If so, please head to the fairy village asap to receive a note from the fairies.

I think you will be very excited to see what awaits!

Love,Dossledorf

Dear children,

Thank you our sweet, sweet friends for coming to the aid of our dear friends.

You see, we are very close to the butterflies at Griffith Park and they have been wishing upon every star in the sky for two things. First, they long for color. The white butterflies, commonly known as the traveler butterflies by us fairies, desire for just one day to know what it is like to be splashed with colors – pinks, purples, blues… every hue of the rainbow and then some.

The second wish they have is to find a peaceful place to float and think. You see, butterflies are extremely thoughtful critters and they would love a place to go to for a quiet moment.

Perhaps each of you could bring color to these white butterflies you see here. Once you do, create a 4 sentence rhyme that will act as a magic spell to make our white butterflies in the village become as bright and colorful as the ones you created.

Secondly, if you could hang your butterflies by your Glapidious, in a very peaceful spot – our fairies will know to find a resting spot there so they can stop and think for a while.

What do you think? Would you like to help out the butterflies?

We truly hope you will. We have told them wonderful things about you.

From,

The Fairies of Hanalonkawich.

Well, of course we wanted to help out – and we were so excited for this project!  The kids worked hard and they turned out beautifully!

The kids also wrote two magic spells so that the traveler butterflies of Griffith Park could have their wish come true and become as colorful as the fairies we created today.

Rainbow, different colors in the sky.

We are pretty hopeful that the spells will work!

Thank you so much for the joyous experience the kids are getting. Theo told us with great pride about how he and Lucas had a chance to be leaders and found the fairy note – awesome! You guys do a great job of making fairy camp magical for all the campers!
