Fairy Camp LA

A blog for Fairy Camp LA, focusing on crafts, music, dancing, nature, fairies, trolls, magic, and other enchanting activities for children.

What a magnificent first day of Eco Fairies Camp!  Our new group is full of sweetness and we had a fun time getting to know each other today!

Dear friends,
Oh goodness! We have been so excited about your arrival!
My fairy friends and I have been counting down the days until we see you again!

We are so thrilled that you will be learning important information about the environment and how to protect the Earth this week. Griffith Park is where our fairies live and grow. The park gives us what we need to create magic and we want our beautiful environment to stay vast and healthy.
But wait… Some of you might be new to Griffith park and all the magic that awaits you here.
And if this is true, how embarrassing!  You don’t even know who I am!  Please forgive me and let me introduce myself.  I am Dossledorf. I live in Griffith park and am a part of the fairy community Hanalonkawich in the tribe of Shlittersnence.
My job is to communicate with the human world. They call me a communications fairy. We all have jobs, and they are all equally important. I love my job because I love teaching people about fairies.
If you have any questions about me or my fairy friends, please let me know.
This gives me a wonderful idea. Please go to the Hanalonkawich meeting spot (otherwise known as the fairy village) for a fun surprise.
More later…
With love, Dossledorf.

The kids were so excited to head to the Village of Hanalonkawich – our alumni campers led the way!

When we arrived we found jewels and a mysterious box.

Inside the box there were so many sparkly jewels and a note that read:
It is with the utmost pleasure to give you the tools to create your very own fairy mailbox using recycled material.

Use this to communicate with me or the other fairies. We can’t wait to find out all about each other.
Would you please decorate these to match your personal sense of magic?
With love, Dossledorf.

When we returned to “base camp” the kids blew us away with their crafting skills.  The mailboxes were beautiful!  The kids asked questions to Dossledorf and we are excited to see if he answers tomorrow!

After lunch the kids thought of a brilliant plan.  They found this beautiful bark and wondered if we could make signs to the park goers on it to remind them not to litter and to respect the Earth.  What a fantastic idea!  THEN another camper suggested we hang them in the trees!  It looks fantastic – I know the fairies will be so happy and proud!

I can’t wait to see what happens tomorrow!
